Organisations working to protect biodiversity 2: Falklands Conservation (FC) is a not for profit organisation operating within the Falklands – “In partnership with government, industry and the global community, Falklands Conservation will engage and empower the people of the Falkland Islands to take action with is to conserve biodiversity and manage landscapes and seascapes for the benefit of nature and people”. The charity was established in 1991 and operates closely with Falkland Islands Government through a Memorandum of Understanding. It carries out practical conservation action, promotes conservation ambitions with decision makers, and undertakes community outreach. It owns 17 offshore island nature reserves. |
