Threats / Problems / Issues
Although valued culturally as descendents of the Bounty's goats, these animals are a serious problem on Pitcairn. They cause erosion, and damage to all vegetation, native and endemic plants, as well as commercial crops. The original Abutilon site was destroyed in a landslide due to erosion exacerbated by goats.
