New Museum: The museum was one of the casualties of the volcanic eruption, when Plymouth was buried. Fortunately the artefacts and displays had been removed prior to the main catastrophic eruption. A new Museum is planned as part of the new capital being built at Little Bay. A ground breaking ceremony was held in June 2010. Montserrat National Trust is responsible for the exhibitions, following completion of the museum in 2012.
