Cyprus has two endemic bird species, the Cyprus Wheatear (Oenanthe cypriaca) and the Cyprus Warbler (Sylvia melanothorax) that can both be found in the SBAs in the breeding season. |

The endemic Cyprus Warbler (Sylvia melanothorax) is insectivorous and uses bushes on hill slopes for nesting. The nest is built in low shrub or gorse and 3-5 eggs are laid.
