Work continues to keep Green Mountain accessible to island residents and visitors so that they may continue to experience the unique biodiversity and relax and enjoy the Island’s beauty. Many paths, tunnels and buildings around Green Mountain were very overgrown with invasive plants. The project which allowed Green Mountain National Park to be set up removed this overgrown vegetation. Continuing management prevents these important features from being lost. An Education and Visitors Centre was also set up in the National Park so as to provide people with an educational facility, and demonstrate to the public important conservation work being carried out on Ascension.
