Other aspects of the project included establishing restoration sites for endemic grasses and ferns in different habitats across Ascension, particularly on the upper slopes of Green Mountain. Bryophyte and invertebrate surveys were carried out and current checklists and action plans are being created as part of the Darwin BAP project. The first on-island invertebrate collection was initiated and these are being mounted in invertebrate store cabinets, providing the beginning of a reference collection. A bryophyte herbarium is also being assembled through the identification, photographing and mounting of field collections. This collection will also be digitised and used to create a field guide.
